The atmosphere on the farm drew me to book this tour. Good wines should be served with good food, the least to reflect on the good wines they have. Food could be improved.
The dinner and final stop were the best parts of the tour. The wines and food pairings were excellent in a very nice location. However, the first two stops, in particular the first one, were useless. The first stop in the town was too short to do anything meaningful. The guide was disengaged and did not know where to direct us in the town for pictures. We were walking around for 30 minutes without knowing where to go. We really could have skipped this stop or, if so, spend more time there and earlier, so we could tour the castle which likely had the best views of valley. The second stop was better although in a very small location. It did have stunning views but it felt rushed and it did not accommodate the whole party comfortably. The guide was disengaged and not very informed. Compared to other wine tours with other guides in Italy, the US, South Africa, and Greece, this was likely the worst guide I’ve ever had. We were better off without the guide and only with the bus driver.
It was wonderful we enjoyed all of it!
