Located in the heart of rural Styria, the Red Bull Ring is best reached via a combination of public rail and official event shuttles. While driving is an option, the circuit's limited access roads mean that early arrival and pre-planned public transport are essential to avoid multi-hour traffic delays.
Train & Free Shuttle
Take an ΓBB train to Knittelfeld station (2.5h from Vienna, 1.5h from Graz). From there, free shuttle buses run every 20 minutes directly to the circuit entrance from 08:00 until late evening. It is the most reliable and cost-effective method for race day.
Long-Distance Shuttle
Official 'City Shuttles' operate on Saturday and Sunday from major hubs like Vienna, Graz, Salzburg, and Linz. These direct coaches must be booked in advance and drop you off at a dedicated bus terminal within walking distance of the main gates, bypassing general car traffic.
Taxi / Rideshare
Taxis can reach the circuit but are subject to the same heavy traffic as private cars. Expect a fare of at least β¬50 from nearby towns like Zeltweg or Judenburg during peak hours. Rideshare availability is extremely limited in this rural region, so pre-booking a local taxi is highly recommended.
