Travel Guide
The Spanish Grand Prix at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto runs 24–26 April 2026, with Sunday's MotoGP race starting at 14:00 CEST. Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia is one of MotoGP's most iconic venues — expect 100,000+ fans, reliable spring weather around 24°C, and a city famous for sherry, flamenco, and equestrian culture just 10 minutes from the paddock.
Renfe Cercanías and Media Distancia trains connect Seville Santa Justa station to Jerez de la Frontera station in approximately 1 hour 10 minutes, with fares from €8–€13 one way. From Málaga María Zambrano, the journey takes around 3 hours 30 minutes via Renfe AVE/MD with a change at Sevilla or direct Alvia services from €25. Jerez train station is in the city centre, 10 km from the circuit — you will need a shuttle bus, taxi, or rental car for the final leg.
During MotoGP race weekend, the Jerez city council and circuit organisers run dedicated shuttle buses from Plaza del Arenal in central Jerez to Circuito de Jerez. Services typically run from 7:00 am, with return buses until 1 hour after the last race. The journey takes 20–25 minutes and costs approximately €3–€5 round trip. Buses run every 10–15 minutes on race day Sunday but less frequently on Friday and Saturday — arrive early to avoid queues of 30+ minutes after qualifying sessions.
From Seville, take the AP-4 motorway south to Jerez (75 minutes, toll ~€7) or the free A-4/E-5 route (90 minutes). From Jerez centre, follow signs to Circuito de Jerez via the A-382 towards Arcos de la Frontera — the circuit entrance is clearly signposted at km 10. Official circuit parking costs €10–€15 per day. Gates open at 6:30 am on race day; arriving before 8:00 am avoids the worst congestion on the A-382. Expect 45–60 minute delays exiting the car parks after MotoGP races — bring water and patience.
A taxi from Jerez city centre to Circuito de Jerez costs €15–€20 one way on the meter (15–20 minutes outside race traffic). From Jerez Airport (XRY), expect €20–€25. Uber and Bolt operate in the Jerez area but availability drops significantly on race weekends — pre-book return rides or use the official shuttle instead. Taxis drop off at the main circuit entrance on Carretera de Arcos; the designated taxi rank fills quickly after sessions, so allow 30–45 minutes wait time post-race.
Jerez Airport (XRY) is just 8 km from the city centre and 12 km from the circuit, with Ryanair and Iberia connections to Madrid, Barcelona, and London Stansted. Seville Airport (SVQ) is the main international gateway, 90 km north, with bus and train links to Jerez. From SVQ, the ALSA direct bus to Jerez takes 1 hour 30 minutes (€12–€15) or combine the EA bus to Seville Santa Justa + Renfe train. Private transfers from Seville Airport to Jerez hotels cost €90–€120 for up to 4 passengers.
