Travel Guide
The French Grand Prix returns to the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans on 8–10 May 2026, one of the most attended rounds on the MotoGP calendar with over 100,000 fans across the weekend. This guide covers the full session schedule, transport options from Paris Montparnasse, circuit access tips, and the best things to do in Le Mans between sessions.
Take the TGV from Paris Montparnasse to Le Mans Gare SNCF (54 minutes, €25–€55 each way on SNCF). From Le Mans station, the T1 tramway runs south toward the Antarès stop (15 minutes, €1.60 single fare on SETRAM network). From Antarès, it's a 15-minute walk or short shuttle ride to the Bugatti Circuit entrance on Rue du Circuit. Book TGV tickets at least 4 weeks ahead — race weekend services sell out fast, and SNCF adds supplementary trains on Friday and Sunday.
The ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) and MotoGP organisers run dedicated shuttle buses from Le Mans Gare SNCF and Place de la République directly to the Bugatti Circuit gates. Shuttles run every 10–15 minutes from 07:00 to 22:00 on race days, costing €5 return. SETRAM bus line 3 also serves the Antarès / MMArena area year-round (€1.60, runs every 20 minutes on weekends). After the MotoGP main race on Sunday, expect 30–45 minute queues for return shuttles — leave immediately after the podium ceremony or wait 90 minutes for crowds to thin.
From Paris, take the A11 motorway southwest (200km, approximately 2 hours without traffic). Follow signs to 'Circuit Bugatti' from the Le Mans Sud exit. Official circuit parking is available in designated fields around the D139 road (€10–€15 per day, cash and card accepted). Arrive before 08:00 on race day to avoid heavy congestion on the D139 and Route de Tours. The circuit is also accessible via the Le Mans ring road (rocade) from the south — exit at Allonnes / Arnage.
Taxis from Le Mans Gare SNCF to the Bugatti Circuit cost €15–€20 (metered, 10 minutes outside race hours). Uber operates in Le Mans but driver availability drops significantly during MotoGP weekend — book rides 30+ minutes in advance. The designated drop-off point is on Rue du Circuit near the main spectator entrance. After the race, expect surge pricing and 45-minute waits; the shuttle or tram is far more reliable for the return journey.
The nearest major airport is Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), 230km northeast. From CDG, take the CDGVAL shuttle to the TGV station and board a direct TGV to Le Mans (2 hours 15 minutes, €45–€80). Alternatively, Nantes Atlantique Airport (NTE) is 180km southwest with rental car access via the A11. Le Mans Arnage Aerodrome handles private aviation only. Budget airlines often serve Tours Val de Loire Airport (110km, 1 hour 15 minutes by car), which can be cheaper for European arrivals.
